Time flies by

Summer went by and now we are back in school. Time is just going by way to fast for me. Last night I took my oldest to a college information night for BYU. Lets say that I'm not ready for my boys to start leaving. I still remember them playing on my back porch in Allen.

Now they are going to be towering over me, I say by next summer. At least I have my little one to keep me going. He is my sweetheart. They were all once so sweet. Then one day they stopped talking to me and more with their friends. Oh well, I still love them.

I still need to post about some of our vacations, that will come soon. I haven't been on top of my blogging lately. Just have been busy with life.

Family Picture Time??

Every year we "try" to get a family picture. With the boys getting older they are not to happy to have their picture's taken. Only when they were little did they smile for us. Good old days. One above only one looking at camera, and Blaze is playing in the bushes. Second try??

Well, boys not in this one. I guess we can't control everything.

One smiling? Why oh why? One more try.

Nope!

Brought in someone else, My brother in law Travis. Got us laughing. Well I guess we can say we gave it a try. They, the boys were not happy that we spent our Saturday at the Fort Worth Botanical Garden just to look at flowers and take pictures.

My Riley the only one willing to take pictures.

Sure Jacob smile when you have a lady bug, go figure.

Family camping trip spring 2011

We took the kids camping over spring break. My sister's family joined us with their friends. We had a great time. Cooked up some wonderful food in our dutch oven. Played in the leaves and talk way into the night.
Camp grounds were busy due to spring break, but the weather was just right. High in the 80's and low in the 60's. So it cooled off just right for sleeping. Try camping in the summer in Texas, way hot. Next year we plan to take more time off and go up to Oklahoma, or maybe even Colorado, depending on the weather. Camping is the way to go with a family of 4 boys. They go off exploring while we relax by the lake or under the trees.

I remember as a child my family vacation consisted of camping every year. I so enjoyed those times.

My sister Michelle and her husband Mark, sticking his tongue out at Cody.

I forgot to bring sunscreen. So we all got a little red. I seem to always forget when spring comes around to put on the sunscreen so each year we get one day of red, then I remember after that. Cody and I got more sun then the boys, I think because they play outside more.

Always have to wear a hat, my hair becomes wild and free.

Valentine's

Isn't valentines day supposed to be a day of love? It must be a boy thing, they were not feeling the love.

We spent the evening decorating sugar cookies with the boys. Riley was sick and so was Blaze. Riley really wasn't into cookies that night.

Poor guy, I think he really wanted to crawl back into bed. I think I was the only one who ate the sugar cookies, I ended up throwing away a ton of cookies.

Jacob was my only one who was in a smiling mood, kind of. I still have his cookies sitting on my counter top. I don't know if they are just getting to big to do this, and should I just stop? I guess one day when I have grandchildren I'll look forward to decorating sugar cookies again.

Snow in Texas

So the last two weeks we had snow move in. Which is pretty and the kids love to play in it. The only down fall is that in Texas the schools close down and any driving becomes a challenge.we don't get much snow, so our roads get icy and becomes very dangerous. Lucky for me I went to the grocery store the night before the snow came in. I did a lot of baking. Soups, homemade rolls, and baked goods. I think I gain some extra weight, because being stuck indoors I couldn't go out running. The kids were out of school a total of 5 days. I would say lucky, but I was more then ready to have them back in school learning. They actually wanted to go back to school. I did enjoy sleeping in in the morning and cooking breakfast for everyone.I was also thankful it didn't last longer, I don't know what I would do. I enjoy getting out and doing things. Being a stay at home Mom and watching kids I so need to get out in the evenings.

Running

So I've been running. I'm not fast at all, but I enjoy it. Speed is not my thing. Maybe with time I'll get faster. I just ran a 10k with some friends. It was a blast. After looking at pictures of me I've realized that I run funny. Why hasn't anyone told me. I run with my knees in, touching each other. I guess this is something I'll have to work on. My hubby must be laughing each time I pass him and is not telling me. He used to tell me that I look like I was in alot of pain, got over that. It is a huge work in progress. I might be doing another Half Marathon in February. If this weekend I make to 9 mile mark. I love long distance. One day I plan on doing a full, but that will take a lot of training and patience. I've only been running for 9 months, so I've come along way from just brief walks.
I achieved my PR for my 10k of 1:02:30. I was hoping to do in 60 but I'll take it.

See how funny I look. Oh well at least I'm out there moving.
